Live Poker in the Northeastern United States

Foxwoods (Connecticut)
Route 2, Mashantucket, CT 06106
1-800-48-POKER

The Foxwoods features a smoke-free poker with with 58 tables! This very large casino hosts the largest amount of poker action in the Northeast. They mainly feature limit games (Hold'em, Omaha hi-lo, Stud, etc.) but also have Pot-Limit games (I am not sure when and of what type.)

Tropicana Casino (Atlantic City)
Brighton Avenue & The Boardwalk
Atlantic City, NJ 08401
1-800-THE-TROP (1-800-843-8767)

This is another Atlantic City casino that mainly features limit games, though they apparently now feature Pot-Limit games on the weekends.

Trump Taj Mahal (Atlantic City)
1000 Boardwalk at Virginia Avenue
Atlantic City, NJ 08401
1-800-72-POKER (1-800-727-6437)

The Taj is the main place to play poker in Atlantic City and was the casino featured in the movie, Rounders. They have a very large, non-smoking poker room that features a lot of limit poker games. I am not sure if they spread any Pot-Limit games.

Turning Stone (New York State)
5218 Patrick Road
Verona, NY 13478
1-800-771-7711

Turning Stone is an Indian casino located outside of Syracuse, New York. Unlike most poker rooms in the United States, the minimum age to play is 18. Their poker room is smoke free, and no alcohol is served at the casino (because the minimum gaming age is below 21).

They have a decent-sized poker room with about 20 tables. They have many lower limit games; they even have a spread limit Hold'em game of $1-3. Their bigger action is their $20-40 Hold'em game and the $5-10 No-Limit Hold'em game that they feature on Friday nights.
